Our Courses
Basic Search and Rescue
This course provides an understanding of Canada’s ground SAR system and how to use assets effectively during a deployment.
- 55 hours of training in your community
Topics covered include:
- GPS and compass navigation (day and night)
- Search Theory and Patterns
- Radio Operations
- Lost Person Behaviour and GSAR tactics
- Transportation and Equipment Safety
- Psychology of Survival
- Specialized Resources; canine, unmanned aerial systems
Team Leader
This course builds on the knowledge of the ground SAR system and the effective deployment of assets and focusses on the Incident Command System, and Leadership during a deployment.

- Human Factors and Risk Management
Search Manager
This course provides students with a solid understanding of managing SAR operations. This training includes scenarios where students are required to deploy members and assets and run a search from beginning to end.
